Yarn Along
We had a sweet Easter this year...hope you did too.
I immersed myself in the spirit of it, colouring lots of eggs with the children, and getting in a bit of crochet. You'll find lots more about our onion skin-dyed eggs in my previous post here.
These crochet eggs were fun to make, this is a nice easy pattern.

Some of the small people I am auntie to seem to be growing more craft hungry as they get bigger, and I was amazed with all the finger crochet they asked to do. Lucky for us we found a bag of bright yarn stashed in the bottom of Nana's hot press : )
And spent one fine sunny evening out on the lawn turning this finger crocheted rope, as the bigger boys took turns skipping and jumping.

Oh I've crocheted many an egg..it can get a bit hard on the fingers! I love the finger knitting...I tried teaching my little fellow but he couldn't quite get it, will have to try again though :)

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful - you are a fun auntie! I love the picture of them on the couch - they will treasure that as they get older and look back on family photos. The nest and eggs are great - I like the hemp cord very much. And those dyed eggs - very neat. The jumping rope reminds me of my friend (whose from Thailand) - she and her friends used to make their own jump ropes from rubberbands. She showed me once how to make one, but I've forgotten.

Gorgeous! I know the nest is quite hard to crochet, I think I have mentioned it :-) I use it as a workout for climbing... Love your eggs and the busy kids, most of all.

DeleteMia, just lovely: the simplicity of finger knitting, they will remember that forever! Your eggs are so cute, and I havent got around to dyeing with onion skins... yet!! But the plan is there :)
